Battle of the Cream Blushes: YSL, Shu Uemura & Chanel

This post was requested by one of the lovely ladies who I met on Instagram and I hope that this review will be helpful for her! :)

I have always fancy cream products more than anything, especially cream blushes. They go on just well for my combination skin type where my cheeks are just a tad more on the dry side.

Here today, I have the three cream blushes requested for review and to share. They are respectively:

From L to R:
1. YSL Creme de Blush in no. 7, Rose Quartz
2. Shu Uemura Silk Cushion Cheek Blusher in Rose Quartz (Yes, the same name!)
3. Chanel Le Blush Creme de Chanel in no. 65, Affinite

YSL Creme de Blush in no. 7, Rose Quartz
A beautiful rosy pink colour with ever so slight shimmers that has a cream to powder texture. Very very fine and your finger will be the best application tool. In fact, you can feel the product melting and almost feels like nothing as you apply. Pretty amazing! The colour picks up nicely and can be built up to a level of intensity that you desire.

Shu Uemura Silk Cushion Cheek Blusher in Rose Quartz
Another pretty rosy pink colour. The difference between this and YSL's is that for Shu Uemura's, it leans a tad more to the warm side as compared to YSL's no. 7, that is just that lil' bit more towards the cool side. Shu Uemura's cream blush also does has a bit more shimmers and in terms of texture, is more of a powdery cream. One application does catch quite a bit of product and hence, the colour does come off as being more pigmented than YSL's. Again, I prefer to use my finger to apply this baby.

Chanel Le Blush Creme de Chanel in no. 65, Affinite
The most intense and most creamy texture of the lot. This deep pink colour product does not fool around. One application and bang, the colour is there! As it is much more pigmented, I prefer to use my Real Techniques' stippling brush to apply the product. That way, I am able to have better control of the amount that is going on.

In terms of staying power, as I do not like to have makeup on for long, I really cannot speak much for this factor. But just a quick observation will be that Chanel's cream blush is definitely a lot more lasting (hence, more creamy?)

Overall, I love love love all 3 and really cannot pick out one that I love most. All of which are definitely worth checking out and if you are already a lover of cream blushes, they are probably must haves.

Of the 3, Shu Uemura's cheek blush is limited edition and part of the 'Bijoux' collection that was launched earlier in the month of January. Hence, this may be your priority to seek out? As for YSL's cream blush, I have heard from the BA here that it may be discontinued soon due to a new release that will be replacing it. Oh boy~~ :( So... you know, if you like it, get it! Do not hesitate and regret after! Never a good feeling, I know. & well, for Chanel's, the shade Affinite is part of its permanent range of cream blush. :) But.. every now and then, Chanel does release limited edition ones. As such, do check with the BA first on the status before leaving the counter thinking that the colour you love is permanent and can be purchased after :)

Hope this simple review has been useful and thank you so much for reading!
Stay beautiful~

Pureology: A Hair Saver

My hair has always been a major area that I have to take extra care of; for one, I have thick hair and two, my hair texture belongs to the 'frizzy' category.

Then, I saw Estee's video (aka Essiebutton) and she featured this brand ('Pureology') that she mentioned to love. It was featured a few more times then after (hopefully I remembered it correctly) and honestly, whatever purchases that I have made due to Estee's recommendations have always been a hit for me.

So you know.. I just had to give this a try! Especially since I have been having difficulties finding the right haircare products. Coincidentally, I was about to colour my hair too! (Which is what this brand is targeted at: colour-treated hair.)

The day when I coloured my hair, was also the first day I used Pureology's shampoo and conditioner to wash the dye off and they both worked well. My hair was not at all dry and was in fact, smooth! :)

It has been months now since I used their brand's of shampoo and conditioner (from the 'Hydrate' range - the ones recommended by Estee) and I have been loving it; for I realised that it really did help too to prolong the colour vibrancy of my hair. :) Currently, I am in the midst of switching things up and is definitely looking at the other ranges under the house of Pureology.

Note though, even if you do not have colour-treated hair, I believe this brand will still work well for you. After all, this was what Estee said (as she does not colour her hair) and I trust her lots! ;) So, if you are looking for a new haircare duo, this might just be it? ;)

Keep the lock shining and have a lovely day ahead!
